The Drive

Soaring through streams of coloured stars,

The night has seduced this city, bringing her to life,

Reminiscing over old stories, we laugh loudly and unapologetically,

Singing along to the radio, uninhibited and unbound by our daily restraints,

My eyes have been held captive in the rear view mirror,

Enchanted by those precious lines which spread across your face as you smile,

Creating a map which tells my favourite story,

The story of you, the story of us, the story of each and every single mile,

Can't we make the road our home, forever chasing the night,

What need have we for sun, when bathed in silver moonlight,

Just press your warm fingertips gently against mine,

Free and immersed in each other, racing boldly ahead, together through time.
