A Loving Contradiction

Your eyes are an endless field of golden summer,

A blissful escape,

I could get lost in them forever.

My eyes are a pale blue sky mid-winter,

Cool and piercing,

But don’t be fooled,

they’re filled with fire.

You are my daffodil in the snow,

I am your stream in the desert,

Nature says we don’t belong,

But honey, you’re all I desire.

We are the perfect paradox,

The Yin and Yang,

So keep your hands on my skin,

God knows I need the heat.

And I’ll pour my eyes over your body,

Quenching your thirst,

Eternally.
